I enjoyed reading this, and i tend to find a lot of your articles relatable. It's almost like a coincidence that in my lastest post i made reference to the same scene. And just a few days ago i was thinking of the different ways the experiences of body affects the soul.
So it's just beautiful to me, how you've portrayed the effects of physical pain on the mind and soul through Tokyo ghoul.
This comment just makes my day. I am very grateful for you writing this . It’s also very relieving that I’m not the only one with a strange attachment to the Tokyo ghoul torture scene
what a brilliant piece!! I loved the references you made. Reading your article reminded me of a show I recently watched. It was about the life during World War II in Poland (country where I am from), and the tortures polish people faced during that time. It made me wonder where is the line between physical pain and your mind. People who had the informations about the conspiracies were beaten till death and yet many times they
didn’t say anything despite the fact that it could end their suffering, because of the loyalty to their country. I can’t comprehend how it’s even possible for the mind to be this strong.
I also find it interesting like you said that what’s the point of all of the social constructions we make if we are all just mortals who bleed the same blood.
